When I select any other option (Article, Contact, Field, Menu, or Module), the correct modal pops up. But when I select Media, a modal of the Administrator home page pops up instead of the Media dialog.
The reason I wanted to access Media this way is because there are attributes I want to add in the selection dialog (figcaption), but those attributes are not available because the Media dialog isn't loading.
I tested with Joomla's default editor and it worked as expected - when I select an image from the modal window, the attributes dialog appears and I can specify what I want for the image to use in the article.
